A little history… I graduated in 2003 from Appalachian State University (that’s apple-ah-chin, not appa-LA-shin) with a degree in geography.  I briefly attended nursing school before realizing it wasn’t for me.  I married the love of my life,Forrest, in 2004 and worked in college admissions while my husband finished his senior year of design school. Upon graduation, Forrest took a job as a graphic designer in Washington DC. Our oldest child, Shepherd, was born in Northern Virginia. Once we found out we were expecting our second child, we relocated back to North Carolina, and just 18 months after Shepherd was born, we welcomed Colette into our little family. We are still adjusting to two children.  Where it’s often hard work, we are loving it.

Many of you may know me from my old blog, TwoPinkLines, which I started when I found out I was pregnant with my first child.  After Shepherd was born, I changed the name of my blog to TwoPinkLines into Motherhood, as the original title no longer seemed to apply.  After the birth of our second child, I began searching for another name.  I wanted something that reflected who I was.  I thought of The Distractable Mommy after owning my struggle with ADHD and motherhood.  Writing has always been an outlet for me, and often my entries are hinged around what I’m going through at the moment.
