I have found a way to get some “me” time around here, thanks to my wonderful parents who paid for a YMCA membership.  The Y offers childcare (glorious childcare) for a 2 hour max, while I can go work out.  Last night, I enjoyed an hour of Yoga. This morning, it was swimming. The only problem with the swimming this morning was the hotty lifeguard watching the pool.  It wouldn’t have been so bad had he not actually watched and walked over and said the following.

Hotty Lifeguard: I noticed you doing your kicks, would you like a kickboard.

Me: Um… yeah… sure… I guess… (mumble, mumble, look like an idiot)

HL: Because it’s kind of hard to do kicks with your face in the water… you’re doing great by the way.

Me: (mouth agape) hubba hmm uh, yeah, uh, hmmm (and finally) yeah, it’s been a while since I’ve done this.

HL: (walks back to get kickboard to bring to me) Here you go… keep up the good work.

I’m not sure how I finished my workout, knowing he was watching me flail around attempting to swim. The worst part was that I honest to goodness don’t have a clue what I’m doing.  I had no idea I was “practicing my kicks” or that I needed a kick board for such a thing. Oh well…
